A Sunny Wedding Story
Well, I told Autumn87 that I would post some wedding stories in this suite, so I am! I figured I would start with a rather short one....but it is oh so sweet.
Before I get to the actual story, I must give some background. I was married in 2005 (October to be exact) and most of our friends were married the same year. There were five total weddings and four of them were back to back April through July! It was a crazy time and I little emotionally draining. It was stories like this that made it all worthwhile in the end. So, here goes...
The second wedding was on Friday, May 13! It certainly didn't feel wedding or spring like. It was gloomy, cold, and rainy. We were in high spirits, but I think the weather kept us from being our usual off-the-wall selves. As the guests arrived to the church (which believe it or not was on Elm Street!) it started to rain even harder than before. The sanctuary was pretty dark for an afternoon ceremony and we were all hoping for a sudden end to the rain. As we lined up for the processional, we hadn't received our wish.
It was a Catholic ceremony, so it took a little while to get to the good stuff...the vows. As the bride and groom turned to each other to recite those very precious words, the rain stopped and the sun came out. Sunlight filled the room. A feeling of serenity came over everyone. The beaming sun stayed until the vows were finished, and then the rain started again.
To this day we still talk about how God smiled down on the couple and started their marriage in an awfully bright way.

Post a Commentaaaaaaaaawwwww!!!! this story was awesome! the sunlight coming through is perfect. i remember you telling me about 5 friends getting married in one year (crazy busy love stress!), i bet all the non-stop parties were fun though.
::the platypus is proof that god has a sense of humor::
Yeah they were bluejeanie! We had so many fun showers and parties. The weddings weren't bad either.
Great story!
love it !
I am glad you all liked it. It was a really special day for me and it wasn't even my wedding!
I bet it was special...it sounds amazing!
Since you guys liked it, I think I will post some more stories in the next few days.
its soo sweet and overwhelming awww!
Thanks Fantasia. I can't wait to tell my friends all of your comments about their special day.
Would you guys prefer one of my wedding stories or one of my friend's stories?
All of them that you've got! lol Only if you feel like sharing them all, that is!
I don't mind telling them at all, I just hope that you all are entertained by them.
I'm sure we will be, bfly!
I will post one of mine later today or Monday.
And then we will just go from there.
Awesome, bfly!
ur wedding stories and ur friends i bet all of em are interesting sweetie !!
Ah, thanks Fantasia! You're making me blush. hehehe
What are everyone's plans for the weekend?
Well, some of you already read mine. My husband and I are going to St. Louis for the weekend. He works for an airline, so we get to fly for free and get discounts on hotels, cars, etc. Instead of doing Christmas gifts, we have decided to take weekend trips for our gifts. Last year it was Austin, TX and this year it's STL!
What about everyone else?
ahh loved the story!
Thanks SaRah! I love your avy, btw!
I'm going to my sister's birthday party tomorrow night.
Sweet Autumn! What are you guys going to do?
That's really sweet. At the same time, I bet my husband wishes he would've thought to get married on Friday the 13th on Elm Street.
Well, she's younger than I am, but I invited some friends my age to have someone to talk to and hang out with. Oh, she let me invite them...I didn't want you to think I just took over her party or something, lol.
Haha, color! The bride's mom wanted all of the bridesmaids to freak her out by coming out of the bathroom wearing orange dresses.
I can't see you doing that Autumn. I am sure she will have fun hanging with the "older" kids.
well u guys are lucky! its a weekend ! hehe weekends here are thursday friday and friday is now over lol!
ana autmn i hope u enjoy the birthday party!
Well, what did you do for your weekend Fantasia?
Thanks, ladies!
Haha, bfly, I'm sure she will!
Fantasia, I'll have fun since my friends will be there. If I were the only one my age, it would just be me, my sister, one or two other girls, and several guys, lol.
My sister's turning 17, and she talks to a LOT of different guys, we can't keep up with them all, lol.
Where's the party at Autumn?
At a hotel, lol. Haha, but trust me, my sister's not the type top have a WILD hotel party! Besides, my friends and I will keep our eyes on her!
One of my friends had a hotel party once. We weren't wild either, but I think the staff assumed we would be because they kept having people walk by the room and the pool.
I hope she has a blast!
I just hope I can have fun, though, what with 16 and 17 year olds runnin' around.
*Whispering* I won't tell anyone. LOL
I was a flirt in high school as well, but I was the harmless kind of flirt. I am sure your sister is as well. I hope I didn't do it for my ego. Now you have me scared.
I am sure you will. If nothing else you can laugh at what high schoolers are like and remember the good 'ol days.
No, trust me, I don't think she's just harmless. She's always flirting with guys who she swears up and down she doesn't like. I don't get it...
Haha, are you saying we should make fun of them, bfly?
I know you didn't mean it that way.
Ah teenagers! What can you do?
I hope this doesn't come off badly and if it does I don't mean it to, but here goes...Do guys like her in a dating sort of way? I knew a lot of girls who were loved by guys, but weren't date-able in the guys' minds. So, to make up for it they flirted a lot. The attention helped to make up for the lack of boyfriend interest.
Haha, yeah, what CAN you do?
Bfly, NOOOO, that's definitely not it, lol. All these guys really like her and ask her out. I know because most of them tell me that they like her, but they wanna know what's wrong with her, why she ignores them sometimes.
Well, as long as they don't hear it Autumn.
Well, that at least narrows it down.
Maybe it is an ego thing. Keep an eye on her now.
Oh, I will! Trust me!
at as long as they don't hear you.
I had to say it Autumn, I couldn't help it.
With all this birthday party talk I want cake! Mmmm...cake!
