I wrote this poem as a satire to how some people think here in society... so here goes Sticking out tongue

If only i was,
the cherry on every cake,
I would be the slice
That everybody wishes to take.

If only i was
The diamond on every ring.
I wouldnt be a nobody
but actually be the real thing.

If only i was,
The hat and not the shoe
Id rise up high,
and not get stepped on and catch the flu.

If only i was,
The first and not the last,
I would be the answer
before you ask.

If only i was,
The name - to gain
Then i would finally
play the wicked name game.

If only i was to choose
Someone else's life other than me,
then i would choose mine
and live in dignity.

If i still was
the something you dont claim
then im proud,
and will live my life with no shame.

If only i was,
to be something else.
i would choose nothing
other than myself.
